Automobiles in Germany's Town Discovered Smeared with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Police mentioned they were alerted by a resident who noticed a car in Hanau smeared with red-colored fluid

Approximately 50 vehicles have been marked with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the German municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, according to authorities.

Vehicles, walls and postal boxes were vandalized, in some cases with swastikas, they stated in a official communication.

Officers report they were notified during the night on Wednesday night, when a man noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored liquid.

The substance had been drawn in the pattern of a banned symbol, they added.

Law enforcement then discovered multiple other smeared vehicles and house walls in the nearby vicinity.

Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under laws prohibiting the public display of symbols from the Nazi era.

Law enforcement state initial examinations suggest the substance was probably human bodily fluid.

"At present there remains no lead as to where it came from; authorities are not yet informed of any physical harm in relation with the occurrence," they added.

City officials said they were working "to solve the mystery" and have requested to the public for details.

A high-ranking political figure commented the incident left him stunned and had to be addressed quickly.

"This act strikes at the very heart of Hanau and revives the pain of the far-right violent incident five years ago," he stated on online, referring to the killing of nine people by a assailant focusing on people of immigrant origin in 2020.
