Paris Saint-Germain Edges Marseille on Penalties to Lift French Super Cup in Kuwait.

PSG players celebrating

The Parisian club has now secured the season-opening trophy on 14 different times.

The Parisian giants required a dramatic leveler followed by a perfect penalty shootout to overcome their arch-rivals in Kuwait and secure a record-extending fourth consecutive Trophee des Champions title.

The Champions League holders appeared to be sailing towards a straightforward triumph in the match between the French league champions and the French Cup winners after Ousmane Dembele found the net in the opening stages.

Yet, Marseille fired two times in the closing moments to seize a shock lead. First, the English forward scored from the spot-kick, before Willian Pacho unfortunately directed the ball into his own net for an own goal.

In a breathtaking twist of events, the Portuguese striker snatched a crucial leveler in the dying moments to send the contest into a penalty shootout. PSG goalkeeper Chevalier then stood as the key figure, stopping crucial attempts from O'Riley and Traore.

In the shootout, Ramos, the midfielder, Nuno Mendes, and Desire Doue all converted with composure for Paris Saint-Germain to seal a 4-1 shootout win.

The record winners PSG, who faced last season's Ligue 1 runners-up Olympique de Marseille after achieving a domestic double, have now lifted this trophy for the 12th time in the past thirteen years.
